Steve Satushek
I was born in 1952 in
Arlington, WA and I currently reside in Bellingham, WA. I have been
a full time professional photographer since 1988 by selling the
rights to my photos worldwide for advertising and editorial uses.
I am a member of American Society of Media Photographers and Stock
Artist Alliance.
Travels have taken me
all over the US and Canada, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and Egypt.
I was influenced early on by the color work of Ernst Haas, John-Chang
McCurdy, and William Eggleston.
The wonders of nature
have been my greatest muse. I worked in several national parks in
the west from 1975-1979 and learned a great deal from professional
landscape photographers who readily shared their ideas and tips
with me while hiking the backcountry. My photo education has been
self taught, with diligence and devotion as my curriculum and the
joy of learning as my textbook.
In the past few years
I have been exploring ways to display my photos as yard art. This
is a result of a passion for gardening and landscaping that I share
with my wife and two children here on our eight acre sanctuary with
its grasslands, forest, and lush beachfront where the Nooksack River
meets Bellingham Bay.
